Dad and I decided that it would be fun to hike to the top of Camelback Mountain, it was a great day for it...not too warm, and it wasn't too sunny either.  Let's begin.

Due to an abnormally rainy winter, the desert is really green this year.  Camelback is no exception, it looks beautiful!

Dad points the way up the trail...

Near the beginning of the trail, we pass right by several people's back yards.

Near the halfway point, there is a huge cliff face, and a steep section of slick rock.  They've provided a hand rail to help you get up and down - and you need it.

Once you get past there, the views just keep getting better and better!  It's at this point that quite a few folks turn around and go back.  But we keep going on!

After this point, there is a long section of scrambling - not too difficult, but it can be slow going depending on skill level.  Some people will running all the way up and down.  Some people more than once.  One guy passed us several times going up and down.  Now we're getting close!

                                  Then, finally, we made it!

                                        It's a long way down!

                                            I do a few poses...

We all stand (or sit) and just soak in the view for a bit.

The brave adventurers pose for a couple pics on the summit...

...then it's time to head down.  Sonny leads the way through the boulders.

Some people ran down the hill.  We walked...carefully.

Later on, the sun came out for a beautiful sunset.

We made it down just as it got dark.  Perfect timing.  And that's the trip to Camelback Mountain!
